It is reliable and good value for the money with good design, look and feel.
Some Simple Tests:
USB 3.0 Interface-Write Speed Test:
Using USB 3.0 interface I copied a 3D movie of size 3.04 GB (3,270,775,486 bytes) from two different hard disks i.e. from an external WD 500 GB hard drive and my Dell laptop's 1 TB hard drive to this flash drive and it took 137 seconds and 132 seconds respectively. Giving a write speed of 22.77 MB/s and 23.63 MB/s which is within the claimed write speed which says "Write speed: 10-40 MB/s ( vary due to different hardware and system )".
USB 3.0 Interface-Read Speed Test:
Similarly copied the same movie from this flash drive back to same two hard drives i.e. to an external WD 500 GB hard drive and my Dell laptop's 1 TB hard drive from this flash drive and it took 47.39 seconds and 28.87 seconds respectively. This gives a read speed of 65.82 MB/s and 108.04 MB/s which is even more than the claimed write speed in one case as compared to the claimed speed which says "Read speed: 35-90 MB/s". The different speed results indicate that the speed of other media that is being used in the test also matters.
Micro USB 3.0 Interface-Write Speed Test:
Using Micro USB 3.0 interface I copied a movie of size 650 MB (681,976,624 bytes) from two different sources i.e. from Micro SD card and Device storage of my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to this flash drive and it took 66.14 seconds and 64.1 Seconds respectively. Giving a write speed of 9.83 MB/s and 10.15 MB/s whereas the claimed write speed which says "Write speed: 10-40MB/s ( vary due to different hardware and system )".
Micro USB 3.0 Interface-Read Speed Test:
Similarly copied the same movie from this flash drive back to same two destinations i.e. to Micro SD card and Device storage of my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from this flash drive and it took 139.40 seconds and 31.76 Seconds respectively. This gives a read speed of 4.67 MB/s and 20.48 MB/s whereas the claimed speed which says "Read speed: 35-90 MB/s". Also the different speed results indicate that the speed of other media that is being used in the test also matters.
Design and Aesthetics:
Overall the design is good and device is attractive with good finish with a little brown/golden sliding cap on micro USB end. One observation though, the sliding cap does not have any lock so seems like a arbitrarily moving/sliding part. For me it is works as a handle while inserting in or removing the USB 3.0 end to and from the computer; Seems like an unnecessary piece added to this smart and beautiful USB 3.0, OTG flash drive.
Conclusion:
USB 3.0 interface has a reasonable read and write speed. Micro USB 3.0 interface read and write speeds are lower than the speeds claimed by the manufacturers. Overall design, finish and aesthetically it is good.
