Excellent value for money, great games that stand the test of time & robust
The Gamecube has always been known as the third place console of the last generation, finishing ahead of the Dreamcast, miles behind the Playstation 2 and slightly behind Xbox. Don't let this put you off this wonderful Nintendo machine however, the selection of games is fantastic with much of Nintendo's finest exclusives being for this machine much like the N64 before it, the Gamecube is all about the games you can only get for that system, starting out with titles like Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race, Monkey Ball & Smash Bros you knew this system was something very different. Throughout the Gamecube's lifecycle it had many great games ranging from Billy Hatcher, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Twin Snakes, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Zelda, Mario Sunshine, Geist, Fire Emblem, Tales of Symphonia etc. The list literally goes on, although 3rd support was often botched on GC the games made for it were the ones to go for ending on a high note with standouts like Zelda Twilight Princess, Chibi Robo, Naruto, Pokemon XD and many more. The design of the machine was also a clean and attractive look, originally shipping in either Purple or Black the range was expanded over the years to Platinum and Spice but it was Europe who got the best end of this deal by recieving the special Mario Strikers Pearl White console in late 2005, these machines are now the more sought after colour and being very late in the console lifecycle they are hard to find as of 2011. Do yourself a favour and pick up a GC for those many games you may have missed the first time around; there's no better time!
