Not a volume I would recommend.
An extremely disappointing book. I was turned off as soon as I read the first sentence on the inside front dust jacket: "In the 60-plus years since Ducati's inauspicious start manufacturing cheap 50cc motorcycles - really no more than a two-stroke powered bicycle - ...".
Fact: Ducati made its entry in the motorcycle market with a 4-stroke, clip-on, bicycle engine called the Cucciolo (Italian for "puppy"). I would hardly consider it "inauspicious", as it sold over 200,000 units and was so popular in Italy that it spawned a popular song.
Mr. Falloon is well known in Ducati circles for his guides to the Ducati twins of the 1970s and later models, but his knowledge of the earlier models is questionable.
As for the "Art" of this volume, there are numerous lovely photographs; unfortunately, many of them are ruined by being split over 2 pages.
In short, this is not a volume I would recommend.
