Excelent knife for the money, I recomend a sheath if your plan is to keep this in your pocket. These are handmade by one remaining man who hand forges these in Japan. This particular model has a laminated carbon steel San Mai blade in white paper steel.

This product arrived at my door much faster than anticipated, upon opening this product from it's simple thin white opaque plastic envelope that you get with most products from China, and for a total of just over $4 U.S. shipped from across the globe, I did not expect much. But upon inspection of this product, it feels mostly rigid overall and of moderate quality. It seems like a commercial item, but researching into this product further I have found pictures of similar if not the same hat in use online and have seen this very hat sold as a military surplus item elsewhere. There are no markings in the hat other than the snaps which seem to have Latin based text surrounding a plain star. The size seems to be about a 7 3/4" size U.S. or a size 60 European. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a similar hat, or for someone who collects militaria.
