You get what you pay for.
It was cheap,so I thought I would give it a shot. Carbide isn't sharp, but can be sharpened. The real problem is the stem is not hardened. I was threading 3/4-16 holes in 1/2" thick aluminum taking passes at .005 increments. The shaft not only deflected seriously, it bent back and down. It made a shabby mess of the threads. I can only imagine what would happen if it were used on steel.
