Palm's are still the best!
I bought this for my wife cause I think there's still no easier smartfone to use. For work, I've had a blackberry and now an iphone, but still think the Treo's and PalmOS are the easiest, most convenient to use, by far. Sure, the iphone has cooler apps and nice features, but for most purposes, the treo excels. Some examples? The treo seamlessly moves from phone to texting whereas the iphone requires you exit the phone app and re-enter the text app (and vice versa). The tactile keyboard of the treo blows away the iphone's on screen keyboard. Navigation is easier with the up/down/right/left/center control than the "swishing" movement the iphone requires. For me, the screen is much easier to read. All of these little things are taken for granted until you lose them. They make a big difference and result in a phone that's easier to use for 80% of what you need than the iphone. It's shame Palm is about to disappear.

Pentax *ist DL vs. Nikon D50
I bought both cameras and like each of them equally. The Pentax uses AA batteries, is lighter and more portable. It takes great photos and is very user friendly. There is a plethora of old Pentax lenses on ebay which make it very easy to build your collection for not a lot of money. The biggest negative is the lack of image stabilization. Pentax will remedy that in the next K100D. Versus the D50, the *ist focuses more slowly and hunts a bit more before locking on. I'm torn between the two cameras and think I'll stick with Pentax for the lens reason mentioned before. I've read that AF speed with be improved with the upcoming K100D. I think that camera will be hard to beat. Therefore, I'm going to stick with the DL and the great lenses, then swap when the K100D comes out. I think that combo will be superior to the D50. 12/2/2006 Here's my update: After using the K100D for about two months now, I can report that it is phenomenal! This is a *istDL review, and it's a wonderful camera and easily worth the $$. However, you should also consider the K100D which is, IMO, better than the Nikon D50. I'm selling my D50 and Nikon lens. I learned photography on a Pentax nearly 30 years ago. I'm happy to see that with the K10D and K100D, they are back!

Good, silly movie
Frankly, it's pretty silly movie. But, I like the old fashioned values it imparts and it serves it's purpose as entertainment. It's been said, but it's too bad movies aren't made in this spirit anymore. It was filmed in Chester, CT and the small town atmosphere of that town remains today. My four year old daughter liked it. There's something for everybody but it doesn't compare (thankfully) to today's movies. It's good old fashioned entertainment where hard work, honesty, good values and love prevail in the end. Too bad more movies don't send that message.
