What can I say. These Canon F1 camera is an all manual 35mm film camera built to exacting standard by Canon in the 70's and early 80's to take on Nikons legendary F series cameras. It was a professional 35mm camera. I love the fact that the prism and the focusing screen are both removable....no specks of annoying dust in my viewfinder and I love the fact it is all manual. It's built like a tank so a good one will serve you for years. Having said that remember that these cameras are up to 45 years old and if you decide to buy one, and you are buying it to use factor in a service cost. Most of these cameras have not been used for many years so to expect them to be in fully working condition.....no matter what the ad may say, is quite franckly to be slightly on the optimistic side. There are still many 35mm camera shops that specialise in servicing, but it is not cheap. I sent this one from france to england to be overhauled and totally serviced. I aim to use the camera not to put it on a shelf. There was an unforseen problem with the titanium shutter that needed to be address. The cost of the repair and service cost me far more than the initial cost of the camera...but on the bright side.....and that prism and viewfinder offer a lot of light...the camera will easily give many many years of service if looked after. Another reason to buy the Canon F1 is simply the amount and the quality of the lenses available for these cameras at very affordable prices. Rememeber you mostly get what you pay for...but having said that you can pick up some fantastic glass at great prices......Canon FD lenses are excellent...I especially like the 35-105mm. A really nice one will set you back between 100 and 150 euros......but compare that to Nikon prices. Tokina's ATX series also give fantastic results and won't break the bank. One last thing. The time to buy both camera body and lenses is now; good camera bodies are harder and harder to find and with full frame digital entering the affordable market place real glass is only going to get rarer and more expensive as time goes buy. Get a Canon F1, get some good glass and slap in some slide film......you will not be disappointed!!Lire l'avis complet
