The Super NES version of Shaq-Fu features five fewer characters and backgrounds than its Genesis counterpart, due to a reduction in cartridge size. The game is otherwise the same, with Duel, Tournament, and Story modes. Each of the seven fighters has a variety of kung fu moves in addition to a handful of special attacks, such as the title character's Inferno Kick and Shaq-uriken. Fluid animation, mood-setting music, and colorful backgrounds can't make up for the game's shortcomings -- most notably the tiny characters and dull action. The most intriguing aspect of the game is the Fury Bar, which fills up when a fighter has been hit a certain number of times, making the character angry and more aggressive.
