Cicely Mary Barker and her Art by Jane Laing (Hardcover, 1995)

Cicely Mary Barker is probably best remembered for her Flower Fairy paintings. However, she also created several other children`s books and illustrated many more; she painted throughout her life, selling hundreds of watercolours and pastels. This book, published 20 years after her death, looks at the influences on her work, comparing her style and technique to that of some of her contemporaries. Her life and character are also examined through her work-lists and letters, many of which are reproduced, and by setting down the recollections of relatives and friends.
