As originally screened on PBS, the miniseries in this set carries viewers "inside" of the famous Big Apple Circus during its annual coast-to-coast, 350-show tour. Over the course of several hours, the documentary introduces audiences to a broad spectrum of "circus folk" - from the performers with decades of experience under their belts, to the ones just beginning to make their mark under the glorious big top. As the program rolls forward, relationships form and fall apart, rivalries erupt, the sinking national economy takes its toll, and much more - but the film's broadest goal is also is most fundamental: a conveyance of what life is actually like from day-to-day in the circus realm. This set contains the entire program as it originally aired on public television.
