Jonah Lomu Rugby is a multiplayer PlayStation game that supports up to four players simultaneously. Named for the famed rugby player, this sports game includes both Jonah Lomu and many other notable players of the time in game. The smoothly rendered visuals take advantage of the PlayStation hardware to provide recognisable characters and stable gameplay. Jonah Lomu Rugby also possesses a key feature in the form of its announcers during play. The announcers in this sports game react to various plays and actions taken in the game as they happen with a variety of comments that were recorded by actual retired announcers. This PlayStation game also features a number of secret teams that can be unlocked through victories in a specific game mode. Complementing this is the ability for players to play through historical rugby matches. Their skill at the game will unlock further matches as they succeed. Jonah Lomu Rugby is the first of its kind on the original PlayStation console and provides players with balanced and occasionally quirky gameplay.
