Though released simultaneously with the Wii title Bikini Zombie Slayers, Bikini Samurai Squad actually serves as a prequel in the mature-themed Onechanbara series of hack-and-slash games. Gamers take control of either Aya or Saki, two beautiful young women armed with samurai swords and revealing outfits, as they slice their way through hordes of writhing undead. When the girls get covered in too much blood they fly into "Rage Mode" and begin dispatching zombies with alarming speed and ferocity; but staying blood-soaked for too long will eventually sap their health reserves. Solo players can lead the girls through multiple stages, including motorcycle-riding levels, in "Story Mode," kill indiscriminately in "Free Play" mode, stay healthy for as long as possible in "Survival Mode," take on more than 40 unique tasks in "Quest Mode," and even flex a bit of fashion sense in "Dress-up Mode." Gamers can always take advantage of either character's unique fighting style in single-player battles, or choose instead to unleash both girls on the zombie masses with the two-player co-op mode.
