Fighting and wrestling the way cats and dogs sometimes do, tongue-wagging Odie and fat cat Garfield knock over their long suffering master Jon's TV set. Without so much as a screwdriver, Garfield quickly reassembles the television, minus a part or two. The TV explodes and sends Garfield and his comic strip companions into the sometimes interesting, always strange world of late-night television movies.
Based on the comic strip by Jim Davis, Garfield: Caught in the Act puts you in the role of Garfield, and you must claw your way through six cat-astrophic levels such as Catsablanca, Cave Cat 3,000,000 B.C., and Count Slobula's Castle. While progressing through these levels, a variety of video baddies such as ghosts, piranhas, crabs, bulldogs, and mummified mice hound you relentlessly. Luckily, you can pick up plenty of ammunition along the way to supplement your clawing attacks.
In addition to the regular game levels, you can play a bonus round where you bop all your friends on the head with a mallet. And each time you defeat a boss, Garfield takes a commercial break where he rockets through the Television Wasteland, trying for an extra life or a continue.
