Konami's Bottom of the 9th makes its Saturn debut with 3D polygonal players. Batting and pitching both rely on aiming cursors over the plate, which can be "locked" into a fixed position to make things easier for novices. The game features an MLBPA license for authentic players from the 1995 season, but the lack of a Major League Baseball affiliation means teams are listed by city name only.
Eight fictional stadiums are also available, and a complete 162-game season with statistical tracking can be saved. Those interested in an abbreviated schedule can shorten the season to 13, 26, or 52 games. "Training Camp" mode allows you work on your pitching, hitting, fielding, or running skills, while "General Manager" mode lets you perform trades. An announcer will keep things lively by calling the action from the booth.
