The third installment of Namco Bandai's Smash Court Tennis franchise offers a choice of 16 professional stars, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Justine Henin, and Maria Sharapova. A wide assortment of customization options are available, as players create an alter ego and gradually develop his or her attributes over time by winning games against higher-ranked opponents. Also featured are various rackets, outfits, and accessories to improve each player's performance (and appearance) on the international courts. Play modes include Tutorial, Arcade, Exhibition, and Challenge, as well as Pro Tour, which offers the most depth in terms of character progression. The goal in Pro Tour is to take your created athlete to number one in the World Rankings, a path that involves competing in multiple tournaments, doubles matches, and training sessions against some of the sport's top players. After each event, players will earn skill points used to develop their character's ground stroke, footwork, technical play, and more. Smash Court Tennis 3 additionally includes three mini-games, two of which are based on Namco's most recognizable arcade games: Pac-Man and Galaga. Xbox Live support is also available for ranked matches and online leaderboards.
