Not often does a clone improve on the original so much as to put it into a whole new world of its own clones, but Descent did just that. Although Descent is a first person shooter, it has a full 360 degree range of motions, allowing for movement up and down as you would expect inside of a ship, instead of the linear movement of a soldier walking.
Containing 30 levels, full LAN support for up to 8 players, and numerous level editors, Descent certainly has plenty of replay value. This coupled with its stunning graphics, great musical score, and revolutionary 360 degree movement, made Descent an instant classic in 1995.
