The wrestling adventure continues, big time, in this sequel to the GameCube's first Day of Reckoning. Designed to offer the control, gameplay, and drama familiar to fans of the Yuke's-developed original, Day of Reckoning 2 picks up right at the end of the original game's narrative.
While players can't transfer characters from the original game to this sequel, the create-a-wrestler tools are all in place. The rivalries, alliances, and plot twists of the earlier story continue, and the game features a hefty roster of WWE superstars, including 16 from the Smackdown series, 19 from Raw, and four deadly Divas.
Despite of the narrative continuity, there have been tweaks and improvements to the sequel's wrestling engine itself, intended to create even more realistic action in the ring. For example, defending against punches, kicks, and grapples is a little easier, but strategic rationing of a wrestler's stamina is even more important.
