Race your way into fun with the Hot Wheels Snake Mongoose Drag Race diecast car, as created by toy manufacturer Hot Wheels. Hardcore rivals in real life in the 1970’s, professional racecar drivers Don ‘The Snake’ Prudhomme and Tom McEwen, in his ‘Mongoose’ immediately enthralled race fans and watched as ticket sales for their matchup went through the roof. It didn’t take long for the popularity of the beloved 1970 Hot Wheels Mongoose and Snake vehicles by Mattel to hit an all-time high and fast become favorites with consumers and car fans everywhere. Relive the historic race the world watched with anticipation during the feud drag race between Don “Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “Mongoose” McEwen, who received top honors for Driver of the year with a recorded 208 miles per hour. The diecast race cars, later created by Barracuda, bears the name Snake and Mongoose, marking Hot Wheels 35th Anniversary. They were made by Mattel in 1993 and are perfect for the speed loving racing enthusiasts aged 8 years old and up. Each vehicle wears the vintage patriotic colored stripes, similar to those the marking the original sponsored vehicle driven by Don Prudhomme and Tom McEwen.
