Kirby's first outing on DS finds him woefully transformed into a little pink ball, by an evil witch who has turned Dream Land into a world of pictures and illustrations. To help the hero through this strange world, players use the stylus as a paint brush, to blot out bad guys and draw new paths for Kirby to follow. By including certain features in their painted-on pathways, such as ramps and loops, players can cause Kirby to speed up, or even jump off ramps across dangerous gaps. Walls can be drawn to help protect Kirby from ranged attacks, too. Although he's stuck in spherical form, the puffy pink hero retains his ability to borrow the powers of defeated enemies; players can use the stylus to tap out bad guys, then direct Kirby to roll in for a quick switcheroo. The main game offers seven worlds for players to canvass, and a number of mini-games and boss battles are included as well.
