On July 2nd 2005, nine cities took part in Live 8. Over 150 artists played in front of 1 million spectators, across 4 continents. The earth had never seen anything like it. Timed to coincide with the G8 summit meeting in Scotland; Live 8 directly called for eight leaders to double aid, fully cancel debt, and deliver trade justice for Africa; in short - to start making poverty history in 2005. The voices of those on-stage and those in cities around the globe made this happen. The best artists on the planet, the biggest audience ever seen... The right decision.
