Sometimes you need a specialized computer, and sometimes you just need an everyday laptop you can depend on. The Gateway NE56R41u laptop is a great example of a general-purpose computer. The first thing you'll notice about this Gateway notebook is its impressive 15.6-inch screen. Gateway's large screen can output a high-definition picture at a maximum resolution of 1366 by 768. The Gateway Ultrabright feature found on this laptop will give you a better contrast without washing out the picture. The LED backlight found on this display will provide a vibrant, colorful picture that rivals desktop monitors. The screen features a 16:9 widescreen display, which is great for any video you want to watch. This Gateway notebook is powered by an Intel Pentium B960 .2 GHz dual-core processor. This CPU allows you to run 64-bit programs. The 2MB cache size will allow this CPU to access frequently used programs in under a few seconds. The 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM allows this Gateway notebook to launch multiple programs at once with no slowdown. This laptop supports a maximum of 8GB of RAM, giving users room to upgrade. The computer sports a 5400 RPM hard drive that can store up to 500GB of data. This hard drive can store over 25 PC games and over 1,000 photos. A preinstalled copy of Skype allows you to reach out to friends all across the globe. The Norton Online Backup utility gives you the ability to make a copy of an important file or document. This model also includes a 60-day trial for both Microsoft Office and Norton Internet Security 2013. The WildTangent application lets you play demo versions of some of the hottest games available. If you aren't interested in any of these programs, this Gateway model allows you to delete them to free up space on its generous hard drive.
