Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 is a motocross game that involves competing indoors, outdoors, in tournaments, or in a series of freestyle challenges. The game is played from a perspective behind the bike as you negotiate the various hills and turns that characterize the dirt-filled tracks. Four game modes are available to aspiring riders: Race, Series Mode, Time Trial, and Freestyle. The Series Mode has players competing in an Indoor SuperCross, the Outdoor Nationals, a combined event, or a custom series.
The 125cc and 250cc bikes available in the game can be further tweaked in the following areas: power, suspension, tires, and transmission. Once you've adjusted a bike to your liking, you can also create your own personal rider. Players can edit an existing rider or create a new one from scratch, selecting uniform color, bike color, jersey number, and the rider's name. Also featured is a track editor that gives users an opportunity to create custom courses after mastering the game's 16 pre-designed tracks.
Besides featuring the endorsement and likeness of champion Jeremy McGrath, the game features seven other professional riders: John Dowd, Travis Pastrana, Jimmy Button, Kevin Windham, Sebastien Tortelli, Nathan Ramsey and Greg Albertyn. Supported peripherals include the Expansion Pak for high-resolution graphics and the Rumble Pak for vibration feedback. Up to four players can compete simultaneously using a split-screen viewpoint in each game mode.
