The Horseman SW-612 is a medium format film camera that allows you to discover the wonder and simplicity of an art form that has been appreciated for decades.The Horseman SW-612 is a professional-grade camera that was first introduced by Komamura & Co. in 1999. It has often been the choice of professional film photographers and accepts a variety of medium format roll films (also known as size 120 film). You can use 6x7-centimeter, 6x9-centimeter, and 6x12-centimeter formats. Film rolls of this variety usually contain between 8 and 32 frames. Some photographers prefer to develop the film in their own dark rooms, and others prefer to get it developed elsewhere. Backs of the different format types can be interchanged so that you can utilize multiple formats in a single photo shoot.The camera body can accept any of ten different lens units produced by Rodenstock and Sneider. These include focal lengths of 135 millimeters, 90 millimeters, 80 millimeters, 65 millimeters, 58 millimeters, 55 millimeters, 47 millimeters, 45 millimeters, 38 millimeters, and 35 millimeters. You can also use the 75-millimeter lens from Grandagon. A standard lens choice for this camera is the Rodenstock SW Apo-Grandagon f4.5/55 mm. This camera is ready to be used with many of your own lenses and accessories, such as the 6x12-centimeter format kit.The primary advantage of medium format cameras such as this one is the sharp photo quality and resolution they tend to produce. The larger film format, as opposed to 35-millimeter film, allows for a more detailed image. Panoramic and extreme wide-angle images especially benefit from the sharp details. The viewers of your photographs may actually feel that they were with you when you captured the shots, so vivid are the details.The Horseman SW-612 viewfinder features eyesight correction, a peephole in the viewfinder mask, and the ability to view the distance scale and horizontal spirit level. The 5-element viewfinder covers a maximum horizontal angle of 105 degrees. It offers optional and interchangeable finder masks that match it to different focal length lenses. Easily maintain the proper level and distance settings with your eye pressed to the barrel. Mount on an accessory shoe, with an optional lens guard for protection from below, and the viewfinder eliminates distortion and presents clear subject description.This camera is lightweight and relatively small, making it portable and convenient. It can be used with either a neck strap or tripod. If you wish, you can modify this medium format camera by retrofitting it with a digital camera back. The digital hybrid would also offer excellent picture quality because of the increased numbers of pixels.
