WD NoTouch ramp load technology ensures that the recording head of the hard drive doesn't touch the disk media. The feature greatly reduces wear on both the recording head and the media. It also serves to better protect the hard drive while being transported. This internal HDD features a metallic cover that protects data from damaging bumps and vibrations. The integrated ShockGuard also works to protect the drive from bumps and vibrations instantly when in use. This allows WD Caviar Blue devices to lead the industry in shock protection.
