The Radio Shack HTX-202 is a robust device. This handheld radio transceiver contains a high clarity FM modulator that is enjoyed for its realistic sounding signal. The advanced features and functions built into the HTX-202 transceiver with built-in meter makes this the perfect model for a newly licensed tech or an experienced amateur. The individually programmable repeater offsets function gives you the capability of setting a different repeater offset frequency for each of the memory stations. You even have the ability to set a default repeater offset for all of the manually tuned frequencies as well. Set a sequence of up to five touchtones for the Radio Shack handheld HTX-202 radio transceiver to sound an alert tone that will open up the squelch automatically with the Touch-Tone Page feature. A 16-digit DTMF output function provides the ability for you to transmit all touchtones through your device. A built-in speaker that delivers realistic sound is a copyright product of Radio Shack. This means that with each touch of a button you enjoy clear, crisp audio conveyance and reception. The Radio Shack handheld HTX-202 radio transceiver does have a dual power transmitter built into it. Set up the frequency step for tuning and scanning the Radio Shack HTX-202 radio transceiver with the programmable frequency step feature. This feature allows you to tune or scan the transceiver to 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, or even 100 kHz. A built-in meter allows you to ensure that your radio transceiver is working properly at all times. This is especially important when you add a new battery pack or utilize one of the other power sources available. With the many available accessories for the HTX-202 mobile ham radio transceiver, you are able to get maximum capabilities from this device. External antennas provide the ability to increase frequencies even in the lower frequency environments.
