As a mighty Spartan warrior, players wade into chaotic, large-scale battles, to single-handedly turn the tides of war to their favor through smart tactics and fighting prowess. The first game published by Sega since acquiring The Creative Assembly, and the first console game ever by the developer, Spartan: Total Warrior applies the massive battles and tactical demands of the flagship Total War series with the fast-paced, immediate action of a third-person console game. The player's character can use a selection of melee and ranged weapons, each with multiple moves that allow the hero to attack a single opponent or to damage all nearby enemies. The hero becomes more deadly as he gains experience. Single-player scenarios sometimes pose multiple, simultaneous threats, and battles may feature over 100 (onscreen) warriors, each fighting for his virtual life. By wisely deciding which enemies to attack, and how to attack them, player's can lead their side to victory even against overwhelming odds.
