Reviews
"The swift-paced story is powered by peppy repartee between Charlie and the people in his life, as well as his droll internal monologue... Dynamic and skillfully drafted ink-and-watercolor spot illustrations from Gustavson, who illustrated Harley's Lost and Found, help chronicle the hijinks." ? Publishers Weekly "Harley has teamed once again with illustrator Gustavson (Lost and Found, 2012) to create a real-life world in which a likable kid must face the everyday terrors of childhood: enormous bullies, looming teachers and thick gym coaches with huge pointing fingers. Into this series opener, Harley magically weaves the simple lesson that people, even teachers, can surprise you. Readers will be waiting to see how Charlie faces his next challenge in a series that marks a lovely change of pace from the sarcasm of Wimpy Kid." ? Kirkus "While Charlie seems incapable of avoiding mishaps, he also has some very good qualities, like helpfulness, which will have readers cheering him on...this is a fast-paced, enjoyable first entry in a new chapter-book series." ? Synopsis
Charlie Bumpers's worst fear is confirmed- he has Mrs. Burke for fourth grade. How will he survive the strictest teacher in school? Shortly before school starts, Charlie Bumpers learns that he will be in Mrs. Burke's class. It doesn't matter that she's been named Teacher of the Year. He's still afraid of her. Last year when he was horsing around in the hall, he accidentally hit her in the head with his sneaker (don't ask). The exasperated teacher declared that if anything like that ever happened again, Charlie would be banned from recess forever. How will he survive a year under a teacher who is just waiting for him to make another stupid mistake? - o***1 (1096)- Évaluations laissées par l'acheteur.Dernier moisAchat vérifiéHave bought from this seller many times before & it always been a good experience-this time was no exception! Book was bought “buy it now” at an excellent price for a hardcover…shipping was pretty good & book was shipped in a bag type mailer that was reinforced by wrapping around the book twice …I was impressed by the condition of the book too! It was listed in the description as good but I felt the book could have been listed as “like new” (yes that good!) highly recommend this seller!
- e***r (527)- Évaluations laissées par l'acheteur.6 derniers moisAchat vérifiéThis was an order for two books, shipped together. Very few sellers can match the care, consideration and diligence that this seller has shown me. The packaging was phenomenal and shipping appears to have been done on the same day as the order. Pricing was very fair. Five stars are not enough but it's all I can do for now. My sincerest thanks!!!
- 6***6 (2318)- Évaluations laissées par l'acheteur.6 derniers moisAchat vérifiéI received this same cookbook as a wedding present 49 years ago. It was misplaced through the years. I am so happy you had this book for me to buy. The cookbook is better than described I rate it “very good” and it was packaged extremely well to prevent any damage that may occur during shipping. Very happy with this purchase and I would recommend this seller. Great experience. Thank you!Better Homes and Gardens Heritage Cook Book - - Hardcover - Acceptable (n°156219483844)
