Mark Bamford directs (and co-wrote) this engaging dramedy about diversity, culture, religion, and love in post-apartheid South Africa. A motley collection of fascinating characters of a variety of races populate Bamford's rough yet hopeful world, including the unlucky-in-love owner of an animal shelter (Debbie Brown), an exiled West African scientists who turns out to have a way with both dogs and people (Eriq Ebouaney), a widower veterinarian (Morne Visser), and a single mother trying to put herself through college (Nthati Moshesh).
