It is the third film to be released in the InuYasha films series. It was released in Japan on December 20, 2003 (between episodes 136 and 137), and in the United States on September 6, 2005. It premiered on Adult Swim on August 12, 2006 and it aired in Canada on YTV on December 29, 2006.
