Structurally the umbrella open and closes as it should and the springs/runners etc are all in a good condition. The handle is made of wood with a leather strap attached and possibly Bakelite and bone to the base of the handle.

Great retro deco piece.

Open/close catch is fully working. Remarkably good condition for age with just one tear which is high lighted within our images.

Made by Jonathan Howell, this umbrella has a silver collar and hallmarked silver end, which finish off the partridge wood handle beautifully. With black nylon canopy (which does not have any holes) made by Gauntlet British Made, wooden shaft, patridge wood handle and silver collar and end, this is a very classy piece - it would serve both as a fuctional umbrella or due to it's history a lovely collector's piece!
