Designed for the backpacker and weekend warrior, the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL1 tent is incredibly lightweight and travels easily, yet provides a person with sufficient protection from the elements due to its durable construction. The fly and floor are made from light, but durable, ripstop nylon that is treated with silicone and a layer of polyurethane coating to make them waterproof. Waterproof polyurethane tape lines each seam of the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL1 tent so rain does not leak in around the lines of stitching. The vestibule is also designed to keep the inside of the tent dry. The vertical door of the vestibule also makes it easier to enter and exit, plus it gives you a little more usable space without making your packed tent weigh more. Setting up camp is quick and easy, involving a collapsible pole system that, like the door, provides greater vertical space when assembled. DAC Pressfit poles slip into angled hubs and then ultralight plastic clips attach the poles to the tents. When you go backpacking, you already have plenty to carry, including clothing, such as jackets, shoes, and socks. That means you have to carry packs with clothing and footwear plus sleeping bags and your tents, so the lighter each piece is, the better. These tents are great for men, women, and kids who do not want to be weighed down under a lot of stuff and heavy packs when backpacking. Even the J-stakes are light. The tent uses 11 stake as anchors, so it won’t blow away if it gets windy. The weight of this Big Agnes Seedhouse tent makes it the perfect gear for backpacking. The breathable nylon ripstop body content combines with polyester mesh, along with the flaps and floor made of silicone treated nylon ripstop fabric that adds very little weight, with a waterproof polyurethane coating to keep you dry as you are camping under the stars. While this unit comes from the manufacturer with a rain fly, when you need shelter from bad weather quickly, accessories like the available footprint and Fast Fly that you can buy separately come in handy. There are a number of accessories available to enhance your outdoor experience. A triangle gear loft is one of these accessories. It lets you store your gear, like clothing, shoes, jackets, and small bags up off the floor so you have plenty of room to sleep. It also keeps your things dry if water unexpectedly seeps in during a storm. The entertainment center loft and power case loft are other accessories you can get to protect your gear in this tent. If you hear something in the night and need your flashlight fast, you don’t have to dig through your bags to find it while you’re also reaching for your jackets, shoes, and socks. Media pockets are featured on the body of this Big Agnes Seedhouse to let you skip the search and to make it easy to store and access your phones and earbuds. All of this packs into a 5 by 18-inch kit, weighing in at just under three pounds, that men or women can strap to their bedrolls or jackets.
